UBC Centennial Celebration

A lovely dedication ceremony + good music + $1 street eats and free brownies = a fabulous turnout for UBC's Centennial closing celebration!

While the freebies and festival environment were most welcome, the real  celebration centred around a beautiful dedication ceremony for the incredible Musqueam post that now stands tall in the cascading water feature along University Boulevard. Carved from cedar by Musqueam artist Brent Sparrow Jr., the striking 34-foot post will act as a permanent welcome to all UBC visitors as they enter the ancesatral and unceded territory of the Musqueam people. Stop by Lee Square to marvel at this amazing addition to the campus (and grab a free brownie while you're at it).
