Chef Challenge is July 9!

Food, wine, music and (friendly) competition makes for an awesome evening—and you can find all of these at this year’s Chef Challenge!

I was so excited to see Chef Challenge debut to rave reviews last year—sunny skies, delicious food prepared by Chef David Speight (UBC Food Services) and Chef Ryan Bissell (AMS), as well as Kavie Toor’s excellent MC’ing abilities made this a great event, and one that staff, faculty and students seemed eager to attend annually.

This year we’ve made it even bigger and better! Last year’s champ Chef Speight will be back to defend his title, while Chef Bissell, hot off the opening of the new Nest will be eagerly battling it out after last year’s very close competition. They will be joined by rookie competitor Chef Holly Seeger (of beloved campus watering-hole Mahony and Sons).

In addition to wine, beer will also be available and the Metro Vancouver Water Wagon will be keeping folks hydrated all afternoon. We’re also very pleased to have the UBC Farm  on hand to talk about what’s fresh and local. They will be hosting a special mini Farm Market with fresh blueberries—perfect to take home for dessert.

Tickets will not be available at the door, so be sure to get 'em soon!

Fingers crossed for sunshine and we hope to see you there!
