Heart of Belonging Workshop

The Heart of Belonging workshop focuses on the sense of community we have with others.  It is about the connections we experience within the communities to which we belong.  In this interactive workshop, we will learn how to create and sustain a sense of community together.  The ideas we will discuss can help all of us become more connected to the communities that matter most in our lives—such as neighbourhoods, workplaces, community organizations, and other groups.

In this workshop we will:

  • Clarify the meaning of “community”
  • Examine the nature of our sense of community
  • Learn how to enhance our sense of community with others
  • Explore how to sustain a sense of community over time

Format

The workshop topics are addressed using a variety of approaches.  These include instructor presentations, individual exercises, partner interactions, team activities, and group discussions.  The interactive format is designed to create a sense of community among participants that increases as the session proceeds.  In this way, the concepts are brought to life and made memorable.  This workshop is engaging, focused, and fun.
