Your UBC Chef Challenge 2016 Winners

On July 21st, the UBC community gathered to spectate the most anticipated culinary event of the summer - the third annual UBC Chef Challenge. 

This year the theme of the event was 'Local Food & Craft Brews'. Chefs from AMS Confrences & Catering, BierCraft, Koerner's Pub, Point Grill & Sage Bistro created delicious tasting plates to masterly pair with brews from Driftwood Brewery. 

After tasting each offering from all competitors, guests voted for their favourite to give away the people's choice award and judges picked their favourite to award the judge's choice award. 

Congratulations to Koerner's Pub who took the People's Choice award and Sage Bistro who won the judge's choice award. 

People's Choice winner Koerner's Pub for preparing: Garlic and soy braised pork shoulder on hollowed sweet potato with java rice and UBC farm pickled vegetables, paired with White Bark Witbier

Judges Choice winner Sage Bistro for preparing: Frenched Baby Back Rib with jalapeno cornbread fritter and grilled local peaches paired with Farmhand Saison.
